“I had my heart set on being Mufasa, but singing was my second choice…”
Kirsty Marquis is a young pop/folk singer-songwriter from Glasgow. Emerging onto the scene in summer 2012 Kirsty has been finding her style through gigging; gaining support slots with acts such as Miniature Dinosaurs and recording. Her first single ‘Lilies‘ was released in late June to a great reception – “When Kirsty played me the track ‘Lilies’ I instantly thought it was a very unique track. It has a really haunting melody and is structured very well.” – David O’hagan A&R Mercury Records.”
After a few months she secured a slot at Belladrum Festival with her beautifully written songs. Starting her year off with a gig in King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut 2013 brings a new band, a slot at MV Festival, an upcoming EP and a support slot with the USA band Callers on the Glasgow date of their UK tour.
